Abstract (EN)
Religious education has been preserved in every period as a societal and as an important necessity in social structure. these requirements in the Republic of Turkey was among the issues discussed in every period. Despite a long history of Religion teaching starts from this thesis in the late Ottoman period, the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and the position which religion teaching has in this new order and afterwards, with the political structure of the changes occurring in motion 'one-party' and 'Multi-Party' processes that took place in the field of religious education changes were examined. The functions of these institutions, which are opened or closed at different periods, have been studied with the content of the course, the number of students, the discussions about this subject in the society, the tables and statistics about these institutions in the political life. In the Ottoman Empire, the Religious Courses which named Rüştiye schools taught in the madrasa in and the Rüştiye have acquired a new dimension after the disintegration of the Ottoman State. Especially with the Law of Unity of Education, which was issued on 3 March 1924, it was decided that religious education should be carried out within the Ministry of National Education. The establishment of the Faculty of Theology and the opening of the Imam Hatip Schools has already stated in the Law on Unification of Education. After this law they were not long-lasting even though the schools were opened. Until the founding of the Democratic Party, religious education has not been made in schools for a long time, and the multi-party process has been revitalized again in the teaching of religion. In Republican People's Party, especially in the Seventh Congress, religious education demands resulted and religious lessons started to be given to schools. With the Democratic Party's being ruling, religious education began to be offered at secondary and higher education institutions as well. In this thesis, the steps of religious education, changes in the political structure, the phases of the organization of the parties, the agenda of the period, the parliamentary debates and the press news of the period were examined.
