Abstract (EN)

Important developments in Turkiye, internal and foreign political events are reported and sent to the United Kingdom Government by the British Embassy. In this study, by translating the originals of the reports kept by the British Embassy on Turkiye in 1948 and 1949 into Turkish, the events that took place in these years are presented from the British perspective. It consists of six chapters, including the introduction and conclusion. In the second part of the study, the Turkish-British relations after World War II, the problems experienced in the relations and the solution methods are presented. In the third part of the study, according to the British Embassy Reports, Turkish Internal Policy, Political Events in Turkiye were conveyed from the British perspective. In the fourth part of the study, Turkish foreign policy, agreements, negotiations and British views on this issue were conveyed. The sixth part of the study consists of the reports kept by the British Embassy on important personalities in Turkiye. In order to understand the reflections of the events reported by the British Embassy on the press during the period, the national press was analyzed and newspaper reports were also included in the study. With this study which is based on British Embassy foreign office's annual report, the British perspective was tried to be understood.
