Abstract (EN)

Turkey took important steps in the formation of a democratic regime by adopting a multi-party system in 1946. After the Democratic Party, which won the elections in 1950, went through a ten-year ruling period, this ruling resulted in a coup d'etat and democracy paused. After a short time, the democratic order continued with the establishment of the parties. Founded on February 11, 1961, the Justice Party has been an important party in maintaining the democratic regime. The purpose of this study; It is to understand the effect of election propaganda that was effective in the 1965 elections of the Justice Party, which was established after the coup d'état on May 27, 1960. If evaluated in this context, in order to understand the election propaganda, local and national press were used by looking at the election speeches and archive documents were examined. As a result of the evaluation, it is understood that the Justice Party wanted to have the vote base of the Democratic Party, and also blamed the Republican People's Party for the problems experienced after the coup and dragged the country into coalitions, thus eliminating a strong opponent and coming to power. After determining the subject of the study, a literature review was conducted. Afterwards, local and national press of the period were examined and then archive documents were used. The reliability of the obtained sources was determined and the writing phase was started.
