Investigation of historical content in social studies teaching programs and textbooks between 1968-2018

The purpose of this research; It is an examination of the change process of history subjects included in social studies curriculum published between 1968 and 2018. It was carried out according to document analysis, which is a qualitative research method. The Journal of Announcements, published between 1968 and 2018 with the decisions of the Board of Education and Discipline, was used as a data collection tool in the research. The data obtained as a result of the research were analyzed with the descriptive analysis technique. As a result of the research, it was understood that the history subject headings given in Social Studies and History of Revolution remained the same over the years, and that some additions and deletions were made in the subject headings in some periods, and these additions and deletions were mostly realized within a nationalist framework. It was concluded that the objectives and achievements tended to decrease from the first program to the last program, the program and textbooks were in a similar line in the last published programs, and there were times when they differed before the 2000s.
