Abstract (EN)
Although controversial in terms of origin, Turkish-Greek relations can be traced back to before the Battle of Manzikert. After the establishment of the Ottoman Empire, annexation was constantly attempted with the attacks of the West against the Ottoman and Turkish lands, and first with the support of the Greek Kingdom in 1829 and then with the support of the Western states (France-England-Russia), with the declaration of the republic in 1924, our neighborship with a Greek Republic state was renewed. It has evolved into a process. Thus l. Developments after World War II: With the Treaty of Lausanne, all the problems of the Ottoman Empire with Greece were transferred to the Republic of Turkey. Assuming that the growth strategy with its "Megali Idea" still continues, it is clear that the problems with Greece will continue. Continental shelf, airspace, territorial waters, armament of islands, FIR line, disputed regions, minority issue, and the status of the Patriarchate are some of these problems. However, in addition to these, another important problem we have with Greece is the Cyprus problem. In this context, while the Cyprus problem is discussed from a historical perspective, the study is limited to what happened in the period between 1980 and 1983. The main reason is that, like other problems with Greece, the Cyprus problem has a very historical depth in terms of origin, and on the other hand, the researcher has limited opportunities and opportunities. In the study, which was handled with a historical cross-sectional approach within the scope of literature review, firstly a brief summary of Turkish-Greek relations was given, then the basic problems between Turkey and Greece were mentioned, and in the third stage, the Cyprus problem was discussed multidimensionally. According to the research findings, an important change in Turkey's favor regarding the solution of the Cyprus problem with Greece during the military regime period was the declaration of the TRNC.
