Ideology in Turkish novel after 1980

Ideology is one of the most used and discussed concepts in the field of social sciences today. Ideology, which initially refers to the science that studies the formation of ideas, is later used to describe systematic idea structures. In the study, the changes that the concept of ideology went through, starting from the date it emerged, until the second half of the 20th century, were examined. Discussions about the end of ideology are discussed. The effects of the idea of modernity and Postmodernism on the concept have been tried to be determined. In the study, an attempt was made to draw a panorama for the period by discussing the Turkish novel together with the political and cultural environment that took place in the post-1980 period. Within the framework of the drawn panorama, the effect of ideology in the Turkish novel after 1980 was tried to be determined. The ideological background of the Postmodern novel, which entered our literature after 1980, and the ideological dimension of formal change are discussed. The loss of power of the idea of Socialism as a result of the political changes in the world and in Turkey was discussed and its reflections on the Turkish novel were examined. In the light of the panorama drawn in the study, Feminism and different sexual identities and sexual orientations were discussed, with the determination that almost every idea previously suppressed by the regime had the chance to express itself in the environment created after 1980. The reflection of these ideas on the novel is shown through the selected novels. Finally, it has been tried to determine the reflections of the ideological conflict between the central ideology, which emerged as a result of the views of the will that founded the Republic of Turkey, and the people forming the periphery/rural, on the Turkish novel.
