Abstract (EN)

In geodesic studies, it is necessary to mention the importance of the corresponding coordinate systems which are used to generate the understudy region's maps. Therefore, all geological information and materials, such as the thematic maps of the research area, should be based on a common reference system. However, due to the applying different references systems based on various ellipsoidal surface characteristics, there are differences in information production in regional or national sense in geodetic studies. In research studies, in which the maps are taken into consideration together are generated based on the different coordinate datums, those should be converted into each other at first. In this study, various coordinate systems representing the position of the point in the space were fırst investigated. As well, the elevation systems used in the geodesy researches were illustrated, including, geoid, ellipsoid and orthometric heights. Finally, as the aim of this research, the models and features of the datum transformation approaches and the corresponding errors through the adjustment assessment of the applied models were presented and numerical applications were given. Meanwhile, as the case study on the region of Şırnak – İdil, ITRF96 - ED50 transformation was performed. In this context, two-dimensional similarity and affine transformation are considered and conversion model parameters and related error calculation were examined.
