Abstract (EN)

Even if it ranges from society to society, the homosexuality, as old as sexuality history, has always been suppressed, alienated by social enforcement and by punishments. Domination which already exists in woman sexuality has developed in the way of being refused in homosexuality. "Other" sexual identities have been suppressed and overlooked throughout social gender factor by creating the fear of being outcast and by regarding them as marginal. While doing this, culture, religion and denomination have been used and genders have been typified. Creation of art hasn‟t been able to escape from the effect of patriarchal power and dominant system, and the narrative of being an individual fitting into society has always existed in the creation of art. Cinema, which has ascended since 20th century and has been the most important tool of power to address towards society, has taken part in the system of re-creating this political and social gender. Appearance of homosexuality in the cinema and portraying homosexuality except for the comic factor and humiliated character show parallelism with the emergence of World Homosexual Movement. Same parallelism is valid for Turkish Cinema and Turkish Homosexual Movement. Homosexuality, which was used only as a theme until 2000s, has been able to use as a topic in recent Turkish Cinema. Still falling behind World Cinema in terms of the number of examples, Turkish Cinema can provide the audience with the staggering examples in the World Queer Cinema, though. Homosexuality has become an important issue which has been dealt with all over the world. In this study, after 2000, ten films in Turkish Cinema, in which homosexual characters are included, were selected and analyzed by purposeful sampling method. In particular, 12 characters in these 10 films were examined by creating the content analysis instruction. As a result, it has been seen that in the films examined, the expression of inner worlds of homosexual characters is in general superficial and not adequately represented.
