Transcription and evaluation of the numbered 239 Ankara religion -record (H.1252-1253/m.1836-1837)

The numbered 239 Ankara religion record consists of the documents recorded in book, sent from other authorities and the suit records heard in Ankara law court through 1836-1837. Thanks to the suit records and the allocation book, we may find opportunity to make the data analysis with the statistical information produced in the fields such as the management mechanism, the historical geography of Ankara,running of the Ottoman law system,demographical structure, cultural signs, social,economic and religious living of public, the production-consumption capacity for agriculture, husbandry and commercial ways in city. In this study in context of time and place it is tried to contribute to some extent to literature in the usability points of the ottoman archive resources and the Ottoman law system in the subject context with the administrative and socio-economic history of Ankara. It has been determined that people of different ethnicities and religions live in peace and security in different neighborhoods in the city. The registry consists of a total 50 pages and 200 documents. These documents include issues such as purchase andsale,debt,inheritance, alimony, dowry, foundation, appointment and dismissal. In this respect, the registry is thought to be an important source for social history research.
