Abstract (EN)

Institutions have come into existence depening on social development for solution of emerging problems in communities. In that, without looking for time concept, that existence has been indispensable. To finalize the conflict for creating peace among people is necessary for also other people in communities. They have been constituted for the purpous of disciplining and pasification such cases. Constitution could take a long time. Some communities attributed justice concept to supernatural power, some of them expected a person in their commutity to establish justice, others let the god handle it. Sharia courts were the most important judicial body in Ottoman Empire. By kadis which were employed by padishah to establish justice even in the hind of the creation, public had defended themself or claimed to seek own rights. Results of those lawsuit had been recording on documents named sharia registry. In addition to that those registries give substantial information about not only social and juristic life but also Turkish culture and history. In this study, transcription and assessment of 1 to 70 pages of Adiyaman kadi registry with the number of 246 has been tried to be completed. In addition to lawsuits such as blowing, abduction of girls, insult, vineyard and garden damage, domestic violent, robbery and injury, govermental cases have also been mentioned in those subjected pages. At the beggining of the study, we have intented to give general information about Ottoman law system and factors constituting Ottoman law. Besides that we tried to mention about kadi's institutions, how they were constituted, tasks of kadis, how they judge, sharia registries, information of social and economic structure of Adiyaman has also been tried to be served depending upon those subjected pages.
