Abstract (EN)

In this study, transcription and evaluation of Sofia registry book of number 26 was carried out. The aim of the evaluation is to shed light on and draw attention to Sofia's history which will provide important information about the historical heritage of the Ottoman Empire. The subject of this study covers the records between the years H.1186/M.1772-1773.Based upon these records, the social, political, military, financial and legal events of the period were attempted to be clarified.Since the range of years covered by the study corresponds to the years of the Ottoman-Russian War of 1768-1774, Ottoman-Russian relations were also explained in the study as collected under a title. This thesis, entitled "Transcription and Evaluation of Sofia Court Records of Number 26" consists of introduction and two main sections. In the introduction part of the thesis, Sofia's periods before and after the Ottoman rule were attempted to be explained. In addition, Ottoman-Russian relations which prepared the ground for Ottoman-Russian War of 1768-1774 were mentioned. In the first section of the study, information about the characteristics of court records was provided. In the second part, the records in registry book and their contents, administrative division,some individuals and professional groups mentioned in the registry book were stated.The last part of the registry book includes appendices section. In the appendices section of the registry book,transcription of registry of number 26 was found and examples from some records in the registry book were provided.
