Effects of the new 4+4+4 education system on teaching-learning process of primary school mathematics education

New developments emerging in various areas (e.g. economical, technological, social and cultural) remove borders among countries and an intense and rapid interaction process is inhabited between cultures and communities in the world. Indeed, it is difficult that communities and institutions are expected to remain at constant position against rapid developments and changes. As many fields, interactions and continual developments had brought some novelties into educational field. In 2012-2013 academic years, a new education system, called ''4+4+4 'education system, had been desired to apply as a continuous-gradual system for 12 years. With the educational system, the compulsory education was increased from 8 to 12 years, primary school education was reduced from 5 to 4 year, and curriculum changes had been created for teaching- learning process in accordance with students' knowledge and skills and in consequence of this a new period had been begun in Turk education system. The study is aimed to examine new system which accord to Turkey's conditions in nowadays, effecting on mathematics education success and determination of teachers' knowledge level and espousing rates related to this system with survey studies in Marmara region, especially in Bursa. The study was analyzed with statistical method which factors effected success of the system and the most influential factors were achieved; curriculum adaptation, mathematics teaching quality, consistence of physical conditions, stakeholders' disclosure, respectively. Teacher's observations and participations' answers were evaluated with analysis results of the research surveys and so, relative suggestions were developed for the orientation period. In information society, softer program must be instead of the rule-based programs, likewise, student's inducement must be provided instead of teachers', and dependent concepts must be changed with free- content. Addition to these, individuals have to come to prominence in education methods and more flexible programs must be developed for persons to discover their potentials and abilities which are interested in fields. As a result, instead of education period for 8 years, which have applied in the third world's country, students will advance in targets in accordance with their abilities with new educational system. This system was brought equal opportunity principle, eliminated the age-physical adaptation issue and realized importance of earlier vocational education.
