The effect on language achievement of secondary school students 5E model

In this study, the effect of teaching 7th grade Turkish class education curriculum grammar topics with constructivist approach based 5E learning model on the learning of the learner is researched. In the research, control group semi experimental model is used to reveal the difference between the success levels of experimental group students that are presented by constructivist 5E learning model and the control group students that are taught existing teaching method. The teaching of middle school7th grade grammar topics on which the constructive 5E model is applied constructs the independent variable of this research. The dependent variable is the success level of students. In the research, the pretest and final test validity and reliability of which approved (Croanbach-alpha=0.85) a 20-question Grammar Proficiency Test (DBBT) was used. The data collected from the tests were analyzed with SPSS 15.0 software pack. The sample of the study consists of a total 40 students in two classes of a public secondary school held by Ministry of Education and located Kutahya province. Two equivalent classes were chosen considering the results of DBBT that had been applied 6 number of 7th grade classes in 2018-2019 educational year. One of these classes forms the experimental group on which constructive 5E learning model is used and the other forms the test group on which the existing methods are applied. The research consists of four chapters. In the first chapter the theoretical framework, relevant literature, definitions, problem status, the objective of the research, the importance of the research, problem sentence, sub problems and limitations are placed. In the second chapter the method of research, the universe and sampling of the research, data collection tools and methods, data collection and data analysis are located. In the third chapter the findings take place. In the fourth chapter, the result, the argument and suggestions are located. As the result of the research it is revealed that the success averages of the constructive 5E learning model applied experimental group students are higher than the existing method applied control group students and this difference is meaningful.
