Examination of 6th grade students' free story writing skills and complex problem posing skills

This thesis examines the relationship between the free story writing skills and complex problem-posing skills of 6th grade students. The research group consists of 217 students studying in the 6th grade of a middle school located in Ağrı province. To achieve the research objectives, two semi-structured problem situations were presented to the students through a Problem Posing Form and a Free Story Writing Form. The research was conducted using the correlational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. In the problem-posing form, students were asked to pose as many problems as they could related to problem situations in the topic of natural numbers, while in the free story writing form, they were asked to write a free story. The data were evaluated using Spearman's correlation coefficient analysis. As a result of the research, it was found that there is a moderate, positive, and significant relationship between students' free story writing and complex problem-posing scores.
