No. 6284 Protection of The Family and Preventing Violence Against Women Measures Provided in the Law for prevention

In the thesis titled "Measures Envisaged in the Law No. 6284 on the Protection of the Family and Prevention of Violence Against Women", the principles on which the Law is based, its purpose, scope, operation and the definitions emphasized in the Law are revealed. Since the main skill of Law No. 6284 is to combat violence, the types of violence and the reasons for its emergence are discussed in detail in the thesis. Since the Law No. 6284 deals with preventive and protective measures separately and according to the authorities that can decide on the measures, we have examined the measures in our thesis study in accordance with the classification of the text of the Law. In this context, the legal nature of the precautionary measures, the way they are issued and their applications are mentioned one by one, and then each measure is discussed separately by stating whether the measures are preventive or protective and taking into account the authorities that can decide on the measure. The law gives the civil administrator, judge and law enforcement chief the duty and authority to order measures within the scope of Law No. 6284 and reveals that these measures can be ordered upon notice or complaint. Since the obligations of Women's Shelters and Violence Prevention and Monitoring Centers were also listed by Law No. 6284, the aims and activities of these two institutions were examined and their adequacy was examined in our thesis study. As a result of our thesis study, various suggestions were made on changes that could be made to Law No. 6284 in order to make it more effective in combating violence. With this study, it is aimed to create a detailed work on Law No. 6284 and the measures envisaged within the scope of this Law and to contribute to the literature by examining scientific works and judicial decisions.
