Abstract (EN)
In this study, consumer disputes and their solutions within the scope of the consumer protection law no:6502 have been examined. At first, general information about consumer law have been summarized. Accordingly, the concept of "consumer", "vendor-provider" and "consumer transactions" which are the basic essentials of the consumer have been explained. Then, the reasons of consumer protection, the scope of the Law no:6502 and the historical development of consumer law have been discussed. In the second part of our paper, the concept of "consumer disputes" which is the main subject of our study have been specified. In the light of the Supreme Court decisions, the consumer contracts regulated in the Law no:6502 have been examined one by one. In addition, lawsuits that may be filed by the consumer organizations and the Ministry have been stated. In the third part, the ways of resolving consumer disputes have been discussed detailed. In this context, consumer arbitration boards and consumer courts were examined; additionally, the cases of application to other dispute resolution methods in our legal system were evaluated.
