Abstract (EN)

In our study, 653 number Karahisâr-ı Sâhib (today name is Afyonkarahisar Province) Court Registry that was composed two different notebook belong to H. 9 Receb 1312 ? 21 Şevval 1312 / 14 Safer 1338 ? 18 Receb 1338 ( M. 1895 ? M. 1920 ) years was examined.278 pieces document in Karahisâr-ı Sâhib Court Registry was applied to transcription and translated in to today Turkish and was evaluated in a determined plan because court registries have important position at city history.In the notebook, it was not possible to determine sub-provinces, towns, villages and parish names and distribution and names of some positions/places regarding to administrative and physical structure of our Afyonkarahisâr Province, belong to stated years. Beside this, at the court registers that we examined, regarding to social life; we reached to important data that would be enlighten to social structure as people names belongs to Turks and Armenians, their parishes, marriages, divorces, heritance and alimony cases.Especially in term that the second notebook register was kept; the Ottoman Empire was in a politically and economically difficult period due to just exiting from 1st Word War. There are cases that are sources from economically problems in so much of documents. So our study is very important because it enlightens socio-economical and ethnical situation of Afyankarahisâr Province at the beginning of XX century that is an important time period.Key Words: Court Registry, Afyonkarahisar, Armenians, marriages, divorces
