Abstract (EN)

In this research study, whether there is any effect of some variables such as computer use, mathematics achievement, gender, and different learning styles on transformational geometry abilities of seventh grade students was examined. The sample of this study consists of 309 students who are enrolled seventh grade in five different schools in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. 158 of those are female and 151 of those are male students. Comparative research method was used in the study. For the purpose of collecting data a 27-item transformational geometry achievement test (TGAT) was developed by obtaining views of area experts and reviewing the related literature. In order to collect students? demographic data, related questions were also asked at the front page of this scale. Obtained data were analyzed by using SPSS statistical software packet programme. In light of obtained results, there were statistically significant relations found between computer use, mathematics achievement, different learning styles and transformational geometry abilities. On the other hand, there was no statistically significant relation found between gender and transformational geometry abilities. Results of this research study provided valuable opportunity to show factors effecting 7th grade students? transformational geometry abilities. Key Words: computer use, learning style, mathematics achievement, transformational geometry,
