Gender inequality in society as examples of Russia and Turkeyfrom 90's modern days

While the concept of gender is a biological expression between men and women, gender emerges as a concept beyond the biological differences between both sexes. Gender inequality can be found almost all over the world. Inequality has existed in the past and still continues today. Gender inequality causes women or men not to have equal economic, sociocultural, political rights, services and resources because of their gender. Despite the attempts made in the world and in Turkey in order to eliminate gender inequality and ensure equality between the sexes, the desired level has not been reached yet. In our study, by pointing out this situation, gender inequality will be discussed in the example of Turkey and Russia from the nineties to the present. In this thesis, what kind of problems there are in relation to employment, education and violence in these two countries in the context of gender inequality, the differences in the context of this issue in these two countries, and finally what solutions we can bring to these problems are discussed.
