Examination of Abdülhak Şinasi Hisar's novel from a psychoanalytic perspective

The commonality of literatüre and psychology is that they focus on the individual. This partnership strengthens the bond between literary Works and psychology. With the psychoanalysis that Freud brought to the world of science in the 20th century, the importance of the individual's subconscious was understood and the mental processes of the individual were tried to be understood within this framework. With Freud's application of psychoanalysis to literary works, the psychoanalytic theory of literature emerged. With this theory, the psychological processes of the characters are analyzed and their relationship with the author is tried to be understood by starting from the fact that the author deals with his own psychological processes in his work. With the emergence of the modernist novel approach in Turkish literature, the inner world of the individual has gained more importance and has become more detailed. The works of Abdülhak Şinasi Hisar, who created novels with the modernist novel approach, are suitable for psychoanalytic analysis in this respect. In this study, Abdülhak Şinasi Hisar's novels were analyzed within the framework of psychoanalytic literary theory. The views of many psychoanalysts, especially Freud, were utilized, and the mental processes of the characters in Hisar's novels were understood in the light of the works and views of psychoanalysts.
