It is often possible to reduce the devastating effects of a disaster to stable conditions with open green areas. There is a need for spaces that can meet the basic needs of the society and offer creative solutions in open green areas planned with post-disaster gathering potential. The basis of the study is to ensure that open green areas in the Landscape Architecture professional discipline can be given the status of areas that can support basic needs in disasters and emergencies, to take precautions against disasters occurring in many parts of the world, and to find solutions to organizational problems. In the method of the research, a survey was conducted with 344 people as a data collection tool regarding the use of open green areas as post-disaster and emergency gathering areas in order to meet the expectations of the society. The survey, updated after the February 6 Kahramanmaraş Earthquake, was conducted with 120 people exposed to the earthquake. The criteria determined in the research were as follows: raising public awareness, determining needs and evacuation zones, issuing a standard legislation in this field, the most basic needs are food, shelter and water, precautions should be taken by establishing warehouses in open green areas, and open green area capacity and land structure.
