Political life in Bitlis during Adalet Partisi period and the activities of Bitlis deputies in the grand national assembly of Turkey (TBMM)

Demokrat Parti, is an important political party that remained in power between 1950 and 1960. The ten-year rule of the DP has been discussed in many aspects. After the DP, which was closed with the May 27, 1960 Military Coup, many new parties were established. One of these parties was the Adalet Partisi (AP). The AP, which was the heir of the DP, wanted to provide the support of the people by giving the impression that it was the continuation of the DP, and included former DP members in the party organization. The AP, which became a powerful party in a short time and came to power with the 1965 elections, continued its power by winning many elections. The AP, which left deep traces in Turkish political history, was closed with the Military Coup of 12 September 1980. In 1961 and 1980, which covers an important period of Turkish political history and called the EP period, important developments were experienced in many fields, especially politics. It has been tried to reveal in detail how the political life was in Bitlis during this period, how the election activities were carried out here during the elections and what the activities of the Bitlis deputies in the Parliament consisted of. Namely with this study, it is aimed to reveal in detail what the political developments experienced in Bitlis between 1961 and 1980. For this purpose, it is aimed to reveal what kind of political processes Bitlis has gone through in the recent history of Turkey. This thesis study is a qualitative study and the data were obtained by using the document analysis technique. Information about the events in the period examined by document analysis was obtained from the copyrighted works on the subject from the Parliament Archive, the Prime Ministry Republic Archive and the Bitlis local press. A general evaluation of the materials containing the information and documents obtained from these places was made.
