Abstract (EN)
Attention deficit and hyperactivity are manifested as difficulty in concentrating attention, mobility and impulsivity in childhood and the symptoms persist until adulthood. Attention deficit and hyperactivity have been studied on children until recently and studies on adults have been insufficient; however, research on attention deficit and hyperactivity has increased in recent years all over the world. In individuals with high levels of attention deficit and hyperactivity, problems such as behavior disorder, job performance anxiety, continuous job change and driving risks in traffic are more common than non-individuals. Observational evidence of attention deficit and hyperactivity affecting driving risks has been less comprehensive and limited. In recent years, there has been an increase in studies examining the relationship between adult attention deficit and hyperactivity levels and traffic accidents. This study was carried out with 198 male and 57 female drivers who were chosen by easy sampling method among 404 male 114 female drivers working in the buses belonging to the transportation department of Adana Metropolitan Municipality. The aim of this study was to investigate the attention deficit and hyperactivity levels of the drivers in terms of socio-demographic variables. The data obtained from the surveys were analyzed with SPSS 22.0 program. When attention deficit and hyperactivity levels of drivers were examined according to their socio-demographic characteristics; There were significant differences in attention deficit levels according to age and hyperactivity and impulsivity levels according to working hours. According to the variables of gender, marital status, working time and education level, attention deficit and hyperactivity levels of the drivers were not significantly different. A moderate positive correlation was found between attention deficit and hyperactivity levels of drivers.
