Abstract (EN)
Hereby study determines the influence of wastewater on rooting and some physiological parameters of pepino (Solanum muricatum Ait.). Pepino shoot cuttings are applied wastewater of varying concentrations (0, 25 %, 50 %, 100 %) and left for rooting. Pearlite was used as rooting environment. In the wake of treatment, root formation, depending on wastewater application, was observed on pepino. Samples are obtained from shoot leaves in order to determine pigments (chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and carotenoids), total phenolics, malondialdehyde (MDA), proline and some mineral matter contents. According to results of research, root formation and intensity increases together with each concentration of wastewater. Under high wastewater concentrations (100%), pigment contents (Chl a, Chl b and Carotenoids) decrease, whereas total phenolics, MDA and proline contents are on the rise. Under high wastewater concentrations, accumulations of K, Mg, Ca, Si, Mn, P and Fe are found insignificant, while Na and Zn showed significant changes. Consequently, the use of wastewater through dilution might be suitable for root formation in pepino. Key words: Wastewater, Physiological changes, Root Formation, Pepino
