Abstract (EN)
With the developments in technology and widespread communication tools, our dialects which have been among our cultural heritage, either keep pace with these changes or they completely become extinct. One way to protect the richness of our language and make them permanent is to write down these values living in the oral tradition. In the XI century, the immigration from the Turkestan to the west regions continued for several centuries. Oghuz Turks, who had come with these immigrations, trickled in the various parts of Anatolia. That is the main reason for the dialect diversity in Turkish spoken in Turkey. The aim of this study, called The Dialect in Indere (Zey) Village, Adıyaman, is to examine the characteristics of this dialect which has completely peculiar ethnic features when compared with other villages. Through this examination, this study aims at identifying the differences and similarities between the dialect features of people who emigrated from Erzincani region in Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijan Turkish and the dialect in Erzurum-Kars regions in terms of the dialect characteristics and literary language. The sample of the present study included people who haven?t lost their dialects in Indere (Zey) Village in Adıyaman. Those people were interviewed; the interviews were written down and examined. The findings showed that despite the external factors and long years, there have been still similarities between the dialect in the region and Azerbaijan Turkish and the dialect in Erzurum-Kars regions, especially in terms of phonetic features.
