Abstract (EN)

The aim of our study to investigate IL-1β gene -511 C/T polymorphism in angiopgaphicly defined people with coronary artery disease living in the province of Adıyaman. For this purpose, blood was collected from patients and control individuals. DNA was isolated from the blood samples. PCR and electrophoretic methods were used. According to our research findings, there was not any relationship between coronary artery disease and IL-1β -511 C/T gene polymorphism. -511T allele frequency is relatively high. Considering the gene polymorphism incidence of ethnic and geographic differences and our country's cosmopolitan nature; it would be appropriate to determine the impact of IL-1β -511 C/T polymorphism distribution according to our different geographical regions in subsequent studies.
