Flora and vegetation of Adıyaman University Campus

This research has been made to search the flora and vegetation of Adıyaman University Campus which is situated in the Southeast Anatolian Region, Adıyaman. In our research area, totally 322 taxon is specified belonging to 71 family, 237 genus, 212 species, 66 subspecies and 44 variety. 6 (1.86%) of these taxons are endemic. 2 of the 320 taxons belongs to pterıdophyta division, while the other 320 belongs to spermatophyta division. 6 members of spermatophyta group inclusiveto Gymnospermae subdivison and the 314 of them to Angiospermae. 258 of Angiospermae is in dicotyledones and 56 of them is in monocotyledones category. Taxa distribution to phytogeographical areas is as follows; 60 (18.63%) taxon is Irano-Turanian, 45 (13.98%) taxa are Mediterranean, 16 (4.97%) taxaare Europae– Siberian, 1 (0.31%) taxon is Euxine element, 88 (27.33%) taxa are widespread, and 107 (33.23%) taxa are unknown. Life forms; 134 (41.61%) taxa hemicriptophytes, 119 (36.96%) Therophytes, 28 (8.70%) Geophytes, 15 (4.66%) Nanofenerophytes, 10 (3.11%) Mezofenerophytes, 8 (2.48%) Chamaephytes, 7 (2.17%) Microfenerophytes, and 1 (0.31%) taxon is vascular parasite. In the research area, in terms of taxa they include, ten biggest 5 families respectively are as follows; Poaceae 33 (10.25%), Asteraceae 32 (9.94%), Fabaceae 31 (9.63%), Brassicaceae 26 (8.07%), Lamiaceae 15 (4.66%). In the research area, 5 species which includes the most taxa and their percentages in order are as follows: Trifolium is 5 (%1.55) , Bromus is 5 (%1.55), Allium is (%1.25), Euphorbia is 4 (%1.25) while Lamium 3 (%0.93). Two plant associations are detected in our researrch one of which is belong to corrupted forest vegetation (Helianthemo nummulari–Pinetum brutiae Tel & Koç) and the other one is belong to shrub-steppe type (Astragalo brachypteri-Thymbretum spicatae Tel & Z.Ortaç ).
