This work aims to analyze, theoretically, descriptively and econometrically, the technological and commercial impact of the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) between the African, Caribbean and Pacific countries (ACP) group of states, and the European Union (EU-27) on the economic development of African countries members of the ACP group of states. The contribution of this thesis is based on its own originality which considers bilateral trade and technology in the context of relationships between a group of developed countries and that of underdeveloped countries within preferential trade agreement. Beside the theoretical dissertation on trade, economic growth and development, this work puts a light on descriptive analysis as well as on an empirical investigation based on the techniques of co-integrated panel using the grouped Panel Dynamic Ordinary Least Squares (DOLS) method. We regress the total factors productivity variable (TFP) on the variables from bilateral trade, technology and the quality of political institutions, on one hand, and the real growth domestic product per capita (GDPPC), on the other hand. Thus, our findings support the theoretical propositions that bilateral trade among countries with different levels of development can promote the technological development as well as economic development in the long-run. However, we realize in addition that there are significant interactions between the quality of political institutions in African countries members of ACP and the variables from international trade. The former effects suggest that the countries should improve the quality of their political institutions by promoting the effectiveness of their economics institutions in the context of international trade in order to catch international spillovers.
