Birth marriage death customs and music practices of village of Düzağaç town of Sinanpaşa city of Afyonkarahisar

The aim of the study is to identify and record the traditions of transition periods (birth, marriage and death) in Düzağaç town in Sinanpaşa district in the province of Afyonkarahisar and the products of traditional culture that emerged in this context by using folklore methods and techniques. The absence of a comprehensive and systematic study of the region's folk culture was seen as a shortcoming and this situation paved the way for the study. In the study, survey model and field research method were used. Accordingly, a literature review was made during the preliminary phase, semi-structured and unstructured interviews were had with the source people, and the data obtained as a result of the participant observation was recorded audio-visually. As a result of the depiction of the data, most of the traditional practices for birth, marriage and death customs, the oral culture products and the folk music elements were determined to be lost or changed with the effect of the popular culture led by modernity. In addition, in the context of traditional folk music of the region, eight henna night and wedding folk songs, one folk song about working and one lullaby, which are still not available in the local resources, were recorded and their musical notes were written.
