Abstract (EN)

The main goal of this study is to determine geographic factors? effects on formal education in the province, Afyonkarahisar which is located in the area, Inner West Anatolia Section of Aegean Region. For this reason, by being appropriate to the goal, document research and observation methods were used and also statistical knowledge about the region was profited in this study.At the end of the study, negative and positive effects of geographic factors on formal education were determined in the province, Afyonkarahisar. High rural settlement, internal migration and emigration activities, the negative reflection of climate and surface shapes to the region are among the factors which affect directly the quality and success in education. After the analysis of the study?s outcomes, the study will be useful for the solutions of the problems lived in formal education process.Key Words: Education, Formal Education, Geographic Factors, Rural Settlement, Migration.
