Evaluation of risks for sports centers and swimming pools of public institutions in Ağrı

The rapid developments in all areas of human life in recent years have also affected the areas where sports are done structurally and contributed to the development of sports complexes and swimming pools in many ways such as physical structures, ergonomic use, design, robustness and durability, transportation. Although sports complexes, which have become widespread recently, provide good sports, they contain some risks. Those working in these sports centers, professional athletes and those who use them for sports may be exposed to risks at different levels due to the complex structures of these centers. Due to their complex structures, these sports centers have different levels of risks for employees, professional athletes and people who use them to do sports. The Checklist for Sports Centers and Swimming Pools prepared by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security is the most detailed checklist that can be used to identify and evaluate such risks. The said checklist includes 105 control questions in 13 different sections for sports centers and 21 yes-no answers for swimming pools. In this thesis, it is aimed to evaluate the current situation in terms of occupational health and safety by applying the Sports Centers and Swimming Pools Checklist to 8 public sports centers and 2 swimming pools operating within the borders of Ağrı province. The results obtained were separately evaluated and discussed comparatively for each subsection in the checklist.
