The evaluation of arrested kids' knowledge level about of ''I am learning my rights'' subject that is placed social studies course in Ağrı M type closed prison

The common way of Social Studies Course with prisons is to redound social awareness and to provide individuals socialize. Socialization is the individual's recognition of their self and the environment and adapt to their environment. Prisons are hosted to criminal people who are not adopted society, and have an aim to improve socializing of prisoners and detainees with education and rehabilitation activities. Due to this reason Social Studies Course Therefore, Social Studies Course can be accepted as an effective class for making socializing purpose real in prisons. Therefore, Social Studies Course topics have a great importance in the prison training activities. Because, educated populations covenant power and powerful future, it is owned a priority for developed and developing countries in strategic purposes. It was made serious reforms in education for last years in Turkey. Prisons are one of places for education related studies that obtain intensity. This study aims to research of arrested kids' knowledge level about of ''I am learning my rights'' subject that is placed social studies course in Ağri M type closed prison. And also as a result of the implementation of the curriculum is intended to measure the changes made on the subject of kids' knowledge. "Pre-test/post-test uncontrolled group design" was applied in the research. The study related with the kids who are in different age and have different socio-economic features in Ağrı M Type Prison, it was seen that social studies were found to be at an intermediate level of information about the course. This result is originated by Social Studies Course that has a wide range and contains basic information. As a result, it is a great importance to get education for the kids in prisons who will eventually join back to the society. The Social Studies Course is one of the courses that are the optimal serving for the purpose of having an educated population of a country.
