Abstract (EN)

Family physicians in preventing diseases of the elderly in their populations and protect their health has the potential to play an important role. In this study, geriatric assessment instrument with the help of family physicians aimed to uncover the biopsychosocial problems of the elderly people. In Antalya City Center 10 ASM randomly selected in proportion to population, a total of 400 elderly participated. Before the physician diagnosed health problems, has been questioned to the elderly; then EASY-Care 2010 survey applied and significance levels of difference were investigated. 43.3% of participants were male, 56.8% were female. Their ages range from 65-98. 52.3% were married, 45.0% widowed, 2.5% is unmarried or living separately from her husband. Immobilization, incontinence, falls, hearing problems, forgetfulness, depression, pain, insomnia, and neglect of elderly subjects significant; pressure sores and visual impairment insignificant conclusions were reached. In other words, the use of geriatric assessment instrument with the findings of the geriatric syndrome of problems, other than the pressure ulcer and visual impairment, were skipped for any reason. The averages of elderly drug use is 2.96 daily. The incidence of fall for the last one year is 38.3%. The most common chronic disease is HT, this was followed by diabetes mellitus, coronary heart diseases, hyperlipidemia and depression. The rate of comorbidity is 75.5%. 46% of participants are provided care. Caregivers for elderly people, respectively, most brides, daughter, wife, children alternately, her husband and caretaker. Men, the young ones, and the educated ones have been exercising for more than the others. Consequently 2010 Survey of EASY-Care assessment was conducted with the elderly, previously overlooked health problems of some family physicians have been detected and shown to the necessity of using from an instrument of geriatric assessment
