Abstract (EN)

Recently, the manufacturing sector have preferred to the use of modern welding methods such as TIG welding for the manufacture of different structures due to exceed efficiency, economic advantages. Dissimilar metal joing is a technique including joining of two metals or alloys that may vary in their compound, melting points and thermal expansions coefficient. 430 ferritic stainless steel is one of the most widely used materials in various infrastructures due to its perfect mechanical features such as high corrosion resistance, weldability, environmental friendliness and hygiene. This study is composed of five titles. In the first part, welding and its methods, stainless steels, HARDOX steels and nickel properties are explained. In the second part, related literature is searched. In the third chapter, information about experimental studies is given. In the fourth chapter, experimental results are analyzed and discussed. In the fifth chapter, a general evaluation of the experimental results is made. AISI 430 and HARDOX 450 steel materials are welded by using double-sided TIG welding method with or without nickel interlayers. Microstructural changes of welded joints were examined by using Optical Microscope (OM), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersion Spectrometry (EDS), Electron Back Scatter Diffraction (EBSD), Elemental Mapping (Mapping), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis. Microhardness, Notch Impact, Tensile Tests were performed to detect the mechanical properties of the weld samples. The fracture surfaces after tensile testing of the test samples were examined by using SEM.
