Abstract (EN)
The phenomenon of the city has preserved its existence from the past to the present. People living in constantly growing and developing cities have benefited from new inventions and technologies to facilitate their daily lives. Technological developments have been used in urban life as well as in all areas of human life. This brings the concept of Smart City with it. This concept, which has been on the agenda since the 2000s, has led to many studies in the world over time. With the development of technology, Smart Cities have emerged and the general city concept has gained an innovation. Cities that develop with various projects, studies and designs are of the nature to facilitate human life and increase the quality of life. In this thesis, the concept of "Smart City" has been examined in detail and evaluated with examples from the world and our country. The study was concluded by proving that smart cities, which is the hypothesis of the thesis, are sustainable cities.
