Abstract (EN)

There are such words in social life that the reason for their use and the meaning of the words gain meaning according to the envornment in which they are used. The concept of politics is one of these words. Politics, which has become a part of the natural life of the society, has become a natural life practice by mixing into daily routine transactions and routine cycles. Societies are affected by the discourses of political leaders, the identity of the party, and the characteristics of the party leader. Opinions of a voter towards party leaders are effective in voting for that party. Considering the effects of political discourse on societies, the rallies of the AKP, CHP, MHP and HDP in Istanbul were discussed, taking into account the rallies of the main party and three opposition parties in the general elections in 2015. The main reason why the parties' rallies are determined as Istanbul is that Istanbul can represent the majority of the people with its cosmopolitan structure. According to the findings of the rally subjected to discourse analysis,it was seen that there were similarities and differences between the ruling party and the opposition parties. It has been observed that the words used as the language of discourse of AKP and MHP leaders and the chronological expression of them are similar to each other. While HDP bases its political discourse on rights, democracy and segregation in society, economy, corruption and poverty come to the fore in CHP's discourses.
