Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of acute whole body vibration (TVV) and Flexi-bar training on isokinetic shoulder internal and external rotation strength in Eskişehir Technical University Women's Handball Team athletes. Sixteen female athletes who had no spine or extremity problems in the last six months participated in the study. The data were analysed using SPSS 23 and one-way repeated measures ANOVA test was applied. Four different training protocols were applied in the study. On the first day, training was performed on the platform without vibration, on the second day at 30 Hz 4 mm low vibration and on the third day at 50 Hz 4 mm high vibration in modified push-up position. On the fourth day, vibration protocol with Flexi-bar was applied. The findings showed that 30 Hz TVV application decreased the mean force in the shoulder internal rotation muscles (p = 0.043), while 50 Hz TVV decreased the maximum torque and mean force (p = 0.022, p = 0.026). Flexi-bar exercises were found to have a negative effect on maximum torque (p = 0.007), work per repetition (p = 0.006) and mean strength (p = 0.004) values of shoulder external rotation muscles. As a result, it was observed that TVV (30 Hz and 50 Hz 4 mm) and Flexi-bar applications caused a significant strength decrease in the internal rotator muscles and TVV applications had a statistically significant effect on the external rotator muscles compared to flexi-bar application.
