Abstract (EN)

Solvent-based zinc flake coating processes and the alkaline zinc/ alkaline zinc-iron/alkaline zinc-nickel coating processes are used independently on the metal surfaces to increase the corrosion resistance. In the study, it is achieved better coating properties and corrosion resistance by applying two different processes, rather than one process. Coating thicknesses were measured by X-Ray and Elcometer instruments. Dry adhesion and tensile tests were conducted to understand the adhesion of the coating process. The products of the new coating process were tested to water resistance, humidity, hydraulic brake fluid gasoline resistance, diesel resistance, transmission fluid, salt spray, cycle corrosion and temperature resistance tests which their specifications were chosen by the automotive industry. The patent was obtained for coating processes, which was showed the best performance in all tests and the product was commercialized.
