The relationship between inflation and inflation uncertainty on the basis subgroups

In this study, the relationship of causality between inflation and inflation uncertainty was tested. The data are monthly and cover the period of 2003-2020 for Turkey's economy. In the study, the relationship between general inflation and inflation uncertainty, as well as the relationship between 12 inflation uncertainties obtained from 12 price index subgroups and the general inflation rate were investigated. In this study, inflation uncertainties are obtained by using moving standard deviations. The relationship between inflation and inflation uncertainty was analyzed by using Granger causality analysises. In Turkish economy, Friedman-Ball hypothesis mostly is valid.
