Abstract (EN)
Because aluminum is used in a wide variety of areas, it can enter the body through breathing, contact or nutrition. Due to the negative effects of aluminum on the living beings, it is important to be able to determine this element in its place. For this purpose, two Schiff bases called (E)-2-((2- hydroxy -3- methoxy benzylidene)amino)-5- methylphenol (1S4) and (E)-2-((2- hydroxy benzylidene)amino)-4-nitrophenol (8S5) have been synthesized and characterized with elemental analysis, IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR. Spectrophotometric properties of the ligands have beeen determined and the optimum conditions for determining aluminium by complex formation with the ligands have been determined by UV-Vis. spectrophotometer. Under these conditions, the determination of aluminium in Kompensan® medicine and samples of water were done successfully. The LOD and LOQ values of the developed method were 0.01139 μg mL-1 and 0.0345 μg mL-1 for 1S4; and 0.00837 μg mL-1 ve 0.0253 μg mL-1 for 8S5. Keywords: Aluminium, Schiff base, Ultraviolet visible spectrophotometry, Determination, Kompensan®.
