ABSTRACT The calm and peaceful period of the Roman Empire, which began with Emperor Augustus and continued in the period of Antonine dynasty that dated between AD 138-192, has been an important factor in getting social and cultural achievements. A new understanding of the life, culture and art is seen to be developed by the interaction of Roman and Anatolian cultures through an economic prosperity. The prosperity and high living standards in this period increased the interest in aesthetics and fine arts; and the architectural decoration elements, merging with the local art, constituted the formal understanding of art in this period. Developing technologies, inter-regional relations resulted in the appearance of an intensive trade that is also easy to mention in the architecture of this period. In this study, the architecture of Antonine period is aimed to be given by its Anatolian examples. Incomplete architectural structures, the construction of which began in previous periods were also examined together with the public and religious architectural structures which began to be built for the first time in this period and thanks to this examination, the extant epigraphic data, architectural plastic items and architectural decorative pieces helped us to date these structures. Among the architectural structures which were identified; temple, gymnasium, fountain, bath, theater, agora are the leading ones. In addition, in the 2nd century, the characteristic features of Baroque style were seen to occur in its own way in the Antonine period of architectural structures.
