Abstract (EN)
The basic meanings of the colours in the historical process and the psychological effects on the people have attracted the attention of the folk poets and they have often included these statements in folk songs. The concept of colour has become a symbol in expressing the feelings and thoughts of the folk poets and increased the richness of content in folk songs. In this thesis entitled "The colors in Anatolian folk songs", 7232 folk songs from Selami Yücel's book named Tüm Türküler were scanned. A total of 697 folk songs which has sung in Anatolia and contains the expression of colour have detected. The data about the usage of the colors in folk songs, the meanings of songs and their rates of usage were examined. In the thesis, the birth of colours, the studies and the place in world history, the importance of the history of Turkish culture and mythology, the meaning of the monotheistic religions and mysticism has been revealed and after that the answer to the question of what meanings in Anatolian folk songs was sought. In this book, the words expressing the colours and related phrases were searched through selected folk songs. In this context, the relation of colours with each other, the frequency of use in folk songs and the effects of folk songs on these subjects are among the subjects in the thesis. Thus, in this thesis, the concept of colour in Anatolian folk songs is tried to be revealed with a text-centered analysis.
