Abstract (EN)

Hunting, one of the earliest source of nutrition for man's history has been actively carried out to meet the protein needs. Evolution from hominids to human species over time, with the growth of human brain volume and development of the forehead lobe, it is seen that different techniques and technologies are developed and the projection points are used with various tools. Thanks to weapons such as spear and atlatl, which are thought to be the first tools that can be thrown from distance, the efficiency in hunting has been increased by maintaining the distance between the hunters and the hunter without approaching the hunt and the success of these hunting tools has been the precursor of the use of bows and arrows. It is very difficult to provide clear data on which projectile tool was used to throw the points in prehistoric periods. The hunting scenes seen in the wall paintings as well as archaeological arrowheads are very important in terms of to understand the use of these tools. Within the scope of the thesis and the region; five types of arrowheads were identified. These are tanged arrowheads, chisel-ended arrowheads, triangular arrowheads, concave arrowheads and oval arrowheads. In this study, prehistoric obsidian and flintstone arrowheads are producted by using prehistoric methods and throwing arrowheads has been experimented. As a result of the experimental studies, it is aimed to determine whether the instruments identified as arrowheads can be used really as arrowheads.
