Abstract (EN)

Mole rats are represented by three species in the Republic of Turkey according to the general opinion. Although Turkey is a source of mole rat genes, studies have mainly focused on the chromosome and morphology was made a limited number of genetic studies. In this thesis, the genetic differences between the populations of Nannosplax xanthodon species which have a wide spread area in Anatolia have been tried to be revealed for the first time on the Y chromosome, that is, on the paternal line. For this purpose, ZFY and SMCY 8 gene regions on the chromosome Y were amplified by PCR method and sequence analyzes were performed and evaluated with different phylogenetic approaches. As a result of the study using 65 male subjects with 12 different diploid chromosomes (2n = 36, 38, 40, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60) from 60 localities, 6 for ZFY and 8 different haplotypes were detected for the SMCY 8 gene region. While phylogenetic analyzes performed for two gene regions give similar patterns, it is clearly seen that Nannosplax xanthodon species distributed in Anatolia is genetically divided into two main groups. In particular the view that separated from the other sample as stated in previous studies of population centers including Turkey and the surrounding interior is supported.
