Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to investigate the relationship between parents' beliefs about their children's emotions and emotional socialization reactions, which are the leading determinants of positive and negative life opportunities for childhood, and their children's social emotional well-being and psychological resilience. The universe of the research consists of the mothers and fathers of the children between the ages of 4-6 who receive education in pre-school education institutions and kindergartens. The sample of the study consists of the parents of children between the ages of 4 and 6 who receive education in pre-school education institutions and kindergartens in Aksaray. In this context, 210 parents, 184 mothers and 26 fathers, participated in the study. The research group was determined by non-random purposeful sampling method. In the research, Parents' Beliefs About Children's Emotions Scale (PBACE), Children's Coping with Negative Emotions Scale (CCNES), Parents' Reactions to Children's Positive Emotions Scale (PRCPS), and Social Emotional Well-Being and Psychological Resilience Scale for Preschool Children (PERIK) was used. In the study, data were collected in the context of quantitative research approach. In the analysis of the data, independent groups t-test was used for pairwise comparisons made according to independent variables, and One-Way Anova test was used for comparisons of three or more groups. The Pearson Correlation test was also used for cases where two normally distributed variables were compared. Multivariate multiple regression analysis was performed to determine the predictor of independent variables on dependent variables. According to the findings, it was concluded that the cost of positivity subscale within the scope of the beliefs of the parents about the children's emotions was a negative and significant predictor of the enjoyment of discovering, which is included in the social emotional well-being and psychological resilience of the children. In addition, it has been revealed that the supportive emotional socialization reactions of parents towards the positive emotions of their children are a positive and significant predictor of the enjoyment of exploring, which is included in the social emotional well-being and psychological resilience of the children. In the study, it was also found that the supportive emotional socialization responses of the parents towards the negative emotions of the children were positive and significant predictors of the enjoyment of exploring, self-control/thoughtfulness and assertiveness, which are included in the social emotional well-being and psychological resilience of the children. On the other hand, it was concluded that the autonomy subscale within the scope of the beliefs of the parents about the children's emotions has a negative and significant predictive effect on the enjoyment of exploring, which is included in the social emotional well-being and psychological resilience of the children.
