Abstract (EN)

The historic town tissues are shaped by the cultural heritage of the natural and cultural aspects of mutual relations. Historical buildings, unique forms and important building blocks of the city because of the privileged position in the city. Historical buildings, which give identity to our city, historical processes, physical environmental, cultural, social, should be protected as a whole with the economic and aesthetic value. Cities are the places which people's relationships throughout history, to give shape to social and cultural changes, economic and demographic aspects that differences. These places are shaped by factors such as changing and emerging standards of living, population growth and migration. As a result of this situation consists of a new city and a new culture. And the urban identity will disappear. Within the historic urban fabric qualified, and holds a mirror up to a specific ID that has a certain period, the protection of the image forming area of the city is of great importance. The symbols of the image that are held in urban area of sustainable urban design in the context of the importance of the achievement of future generations is undeniable. Antakya is the city that has hosted many civilizations throughout history has been formed under the influence of various religions and cultures. That is experiencing an ethnic habitat of different religions and sects. The property of this ethnic has maintained throughout the history.In this thesis work, in the case of Gazipaşa, which is located in the historical texture of the Antakya city, which was shaped, with different cultures in history, image analysis within the scope of existing physical condition has been determined, the recommendations have been developed.
