The peoples of Pontos, Colchis and Sindice Region in Antiquity: Struggle and strategy

The thesis which is entitled The Peoples of Pontos, Colchis and Sindice Region in Antiquity: Struggle and Strategy, focuses on the coastal strip which is on the east of the black sea and the peoples of this strip. In this study, which is based on the effects of geography on life; the historical geographies and local peoples of the regions are examined and the effects of this geography on the local peoples are revealed. In that way, the lives which is developed by local peoples and depending on the geography, the characters which they revealed and the cultures are have been tried to show. Also, the strategies they had in order to explain the positions and the actions of the local peoples in the struggle of domination in the region were examined in detail. Any studies haven't been come up to in the domestic and foreign literature about the local poeples's struggles and strategies. So, this subject were studied in detail. The positions and the effects of the local peoples in the sovereignty struggles on the mentioned regions have been revealed. Also, information has been gained about the level of development and awareness which they have by studying the strategies that the peoples have put forward during struggles. It has been observed that the research in the domestic literature about local peoples mainly undertakes the task of collecting and transferring the informations in sources, not involved in any analysis and usually have structures that repeat each other. For his reasons, in order to remove these deficits, updating the informations about local peoples, analyzing and detail presenting it as a meaningful whole, it has been carried out whit this study. At the end of these researches, it has been revealed that the local peoples are ignored in western sources and modern studies and some accepted definitions which are related to primitive peoples are deceptice.
