During interim regime periods Turkey's foreign policy

In Turkey, interim regime periods denote the intervals during which the military was involved either directly or indirectly in the government and exerted dominance over the country's governance. This paper examines the foreign policy activities before and during the interim regime periods that followed the military interventions on 27 May 1960, 12 March 1971, and 12 September 1980 in the history of the Republic. During the preparation of the study, a wide range of materials were utilized, including official sources, archival papers, news sources, books, and numerous research articles. The main objective of the study, which consists of an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion, is to analyse the foreign policy procedures of military governments. The introduction covers a basic overview of the relationship between the military and politics, specifically focusing on the interim rule period in Turkey and its defining traits. In addition, the text includes a concise overview of the topic distribution and substance of the chapters. The main chapters examine foreign policy concerns through general information about the relevant periods. The concluding chapter provides a thorough evaluation of the study, focusing on the distinctive features of foreign policy procedures during the interim regime eras, and examining their parallels and variations.
