Plant taxons of the asteraceae family distributed in Ardahan region

This work is conducted between 2019-2022 to identify "Plant Taxa Belonging to Family Asteraceae That Are Distributed in Ardahan Province". Research area is located in A9 square according to the grid system, where Northeasternmost area of the Iran-Turan region of the Holarctic region and the easternmost area of the European-Siberian floral region merge. Research area has an altitude of 1390-2550 m and has a wavy plateau shape. The height differences in the study area contributes to the diversity of plant communities. On the other hand, this basin is in Northeastern Anatolia continental climate region yet there are occasional Black Sea climate regions. According to both area and literature investigations, there are 104 plant taxa across the province, 8 of which are endemic. In addition, it was found that type speciemens of 10 taxa were collected from Turkiye. The tribes which have the most taxa are as follows: Cardueae, Anthemideae, Lactuceae, Inulae, Astereae, Senecioneae, Helianthae. Keywords: Asteraceae, tribe, subtibe, flora, Ardahan.
