Abstract (EN)
This study occurred to reveal the effects of afforestation on soil properties with in boundaries of Ardanuc district in Artvin city. For this purpose, soil samples were taken from planted 20 and 40 ago years Calabrian pine plantation and cedar, black locust sites afforested in 2013 and adjacent control sites non-forested. Soil samples were taken from 0-15 cm soil depth level. Soil texture, soil pH, Ec, lime, organic matter, nitrogen, C/N rate, dispersion rate, skeleton content, bulk density, and aggregate stability analyses were done on soil samples. Variance analyze was done by SPSS 19.0 statistic program on results of soil analyses. As the result of variance analyze, significant differences were found out between control sites and cedar and locust planting sites for all soil analyses values. As a result of analyses, clay, silt, lime, organic matter, total nitrogen, C/N rate and aggregate stability in soil increased while sand, pH, lime dispersion rate, skeleton content, bulk density decreased. It has been seen that soil properties got better together with afforestation studies. According to results of this study, we considered that afforestation studies should be done without retarding in potential sites of semi-arid areas, otherwise environmental disruption will be more with erosion effect.
